Fans of the Proper Massive tour will pay no more than 98.85 pounds for the most expensive standing ticket at Wembley Stadium. Sam Fender made this change after public criticism of the initial pricing structure. The top rate had previously reached 130.75 pounds for a front standing zone.
The price adjustment affects all standing ticket categories for the London show. Fender confirmed that the new cap applies to the entire tour, not just the capital date. This move lowers the entry cost for thousands of attendees who intended to stand in the pit.
The controversy began earlier this week when Fender announced the tour dates. A user named Gavin Davis posted a screenshot of the Wembley listing on Instagram. The image showed front standing tickets at 130.75 pounds and standard standing tickets at 98.85 pounds. Seated options ranged from 64.75 pounds to 130.75 pounds. Many followers shared the post, criticizing the price spread for a pop rock event.
Fender replied to the post on social media to address the concerns. He stated that he was unhappy with the initial figures. The 32 year old singer explained that the prices had risen beyond his original plans. He insisted that ticket costs should only cover the actual expenses of staging the production. He rejected the idea that ticketing partners should add extra profit margins on top of those production costs.
The artist also addressed the layout of the standing areas. He criticized the division of the floor into front and back tiers. Fender described the front standing tier as bollocks in his reply. He confirmed that this specific setup would not be used for his shows. He noted that he was confused by how this system had become standard in the live music industry.
The high pricing was not unique to London. Ticket listings for other cities on the tour also showed standing prices over 100 pounds. In Newcastle, the top price was 112.90 pounds. Cardiff listed its highest ticket at 119 pounds. Manchester’s top rate was 119.60 pounds. Edinburgh had the highest price in the UK lineup at 120.95 pounds. Fender’s new cap addresses these high points across the tour dates.
General ticket sales begin on Friday. A presale opens on Wednesday morning. The tour takes place across the summer of 2027. Fender will perform at major stadiums including St James’s Park in Newcastle, the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Marley Park in Dublin, Murrayfield in Edinburgh, and the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.
Fender joins other artists who have recently questioned live music pricing. In August, Zara Larsson shared a TikTok video about her Bangkok show. She agreed with fans that the tickets were very expensive. She expressed a desire to be more involved in setting prices. She noted that financial barriers kept many people from attending her concerts.
Fender also confirmed earlier this week that a fourth studio album is in production. He has not revealed the title or cover art. The release follows the success of his 2025 album People Watching, which won the Mercury prize. His career includes five Brit awards and hits like Hypersonic Missiles and Seventeen Going Under.
Earlier this year, Fender collaborated with Olivia Dean on a duet of Rein Me In. The track won the 2026 Brit award for song of the year. It spent 23 weeks at number one on the singles chart. This made it the longest running number one single in British history.
